Certified in Prenatal Massage — Supporting You Through Every Step of Your Journey
We love helping moms-to-be stay relaxed, comfortable, and stress-free during their pregnancy journey! Pregnancy can be an exciting, beautiful — and sometimes overwhelming — time. That’s why incorporating massage therapy into your prenatal care plan can be one of the best gifts you give yourself and your growing baby.
The Benefits Go Beyond Relaxation
Massage therapy during pregnancy isn’t just about feeling good (although that’s important too!). Regular massage can help improve overall prenatal health, enhance emotional well-being, ease common pregnancy discomforts, and even support a healthier pregnancy outcome. Along with the guidance of your prenatal care provider, massage can become an essential part of your emotional and physical self-care.
When Can You Start?
Women can safely begin massage therapy at any point during their pregnancy — in the first, second, or third trimester. Some prefer to wait until after the first trimester, but if your doctor gives the green light, massage can be a wonderful way to stay healthy, connected, and calm right from the start.
Taking care of your mind and body during pregnancy is so important, and we are honored to be a part of that journey with you.
Safety First
If you have any concerns, or if you are experiencing a high-risk pregnancy at any stage, please consult with your doctor to ensure massage is a safe option for you and your baby. Your health and your baby’s health are our top priorities.
Women who have recently experienced bleeding, pre-term contractions, or have any of the following conditions should speak with a health care provider prior to receiving a massage:
- High-risk pregnancy
- Pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH)
- Preeclampsia
- Previous pre-term labor
- Experiencing severe swelling, high blood pressure, or sudden, severe headaches
- Recently gave birth

What are the benefits of massage during your pregnancy?
- Massage helps to prepare your body by reducing tension and loosening your pelvis for easier labor and delivery
- It relieves your aches and pains naturally and safely
- Helps to reduce your issues with swelling by increasing your circulation and helping your lymphatic system to remove excess fluid
- Eases the stress on your joints making you less stiff and sore as the baby’s weight increases
- Helps reduce your symptoms of sciatica, a very common problem in pregnancy
- Studies have shown that babies respond to mom’s stress levels which cold instigate preterm labor or cause low birth weight which may result in heath issues after birth (read a great article here)
- Massage on the area of the ribs helps to relieve any muscular restrictions which allows you to breathe easier
- Reflexology, or working specific points on your feet and hands can help sooth your digestive issues that commonly arise during your pregnancy
- Regular massage can help lessen your feelings of anxiety and depression that can commonly happen during pregnancy

- If you have any questions or are unsure if massage will be safe for you and your baby then it is always a good idea to ask your doctor first before making an appointment.

How pregnancy massage differs from regular massage…
First Trimester
Massage lying on your belly is fine as long as you are comfortable.
Only light work on your lower back and sacrum will be done as well as no abdominal work during this time. The rest of the body can be treated like a regular massage session.
Second and Third Trimesters
Your massage session is done while you are lying on your side with pillows and bolsters for supreme support. You may also be on your back using large comfortable wedges to support you in complete comfort.
Gentle massage on your abdomen can begin (unless you are having twins!) This is a very personal option and I always make sure to ask your preferences first.
Full pressure on your lower back is now safe.
Full care will be given to make sure you are not lying in any position for too long.
